Which one is better: Exercising in group or exercising alone?
Exercising in a group and exercising alone are different experiences. Individuals differ in their method to a gym workout. Some are loners, fairly comfortable to be dynamic on their own. Others flourish in a cooperative environment. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of exercising alone and exercising in a group.
Exercising Alone
PROS-
When you decide to exercise alone, you don’t depend on anyone but yourself. Doing it alone gives you the chance to be your own person in charge. With no one to point the finger at, you’ll learn to manage your day better.
Groups regularly agree to team up for the accomplishment of their fitness goals, only to realize that their goals are either mismatched or their mate’s pace is extremely different. Instead, you can focus on you and train at your own pace. You shouldn’t have to slow down or play catch-up.
Being alone automatically disregards the possibility of diversions. A random chat with a fellow gym junkie is fine but a full-fledged conversation will hamper the training routine.
CONS-
Exercising alone can be nerve-wracking. It undoubtedly sounds terribly boring to some. Boredom is the worst thing you could associate exercise with, as you’ll be giving up in no time.
Observing another’s growth and commitment may add some much-needed inspiration. If you lose your energy, in spite of having seen results, you may be tempted to throw everything out of the window. Instead, with someone next to you, those awful feelings will vanish!
With acquaintance – rather somebody a little more progressive – you’re certain to reach higher!
Exercising in group
PROS-
Motivation: Working out with associates that are at about the same level as yourself will always inspire you to push tougher in the gym setup. Lack of motivation is the main reason why people miss their regular workout.
Spotter: Working out with a spotter is an advantage specifically on training where you have the risk of missing a rep and injure yourself while using various gym equipment and exercises such as the bench press or the squats.
Advice: Someone who observes you exercise may help you a lot. A training companion can notice much better your procedure and make proposals or rectifications to it.
CONS-
The more training associates you have the more time you will waste in the gym, due to increase in resting periods between your sets, chatting, etc. This will result in a less active workout and in losing time.
The routine will be messed up. You can’t constantly match the training days, you might be on your legs day while your mate might be on his chest day. Somebody will have to make a negotiation.
